Maths Centre established a partnership with Eskom Expo for Young Scientists in 2014 with the view of promoting innovation and unlocking the creative energy within our learners. Participation in the expo also cultivates critical skills needed for tertiary study such as research skills and problem solving. Self-confidence is also developed as learners have to present their projects to the judging panel.

Ms. Marna Van Zyl, Maths Centre’s trainer for the Tsantsabane Teacher Development Project organized this year’s school expo for the project schools in Postmasburg. Learners from grades 6-12 participated and the level of submissions was of a high standard. Many participated for the very first time in both the junior and senior divisions.
